Edtech startup PhysicsWallah becomes India’s 101st unicorn New Delhi, June 8 (KNN) Educational technology (edtech) startup PhysicsWallah (PW) has entered India’s unicorn club and is the 101st startup to have a total valuation of USD 1 billion.
It has raised USD 100 million in Series A funding from WestBridge Capital and GSV Ventures and was valued at USD 1.1 billion after closing the transaction.
The Noida based startup will use the funds for business expansion, branding, opening more learning centres, and introducing extra courses.
“This latest development will help us further our vision and implement new initiatives to augment the journeys of students, enabling them to reach new heights in their careers. Our commitment remains ‘every dollar spent in PW is for the greater good of learners’," said Alakh Pandey, Founder and chief executive officer of PW.
PW currently has 5.2-million Google Play downloads with a 4.7 rating and 6.9 million subscribers on YouTube.
It is an online ed-tech platform that provides affordable and comprehensive learning experience to students of classes 6 to 12 and those preparing for JEE and NEET exams.
It also provide extensive NCERT solutions, sample papers, NEET, JEE Mains, BITSAT previous year papers, which makes us a one-stop solution for all resources. (KNN Bureau)
